Armenian man from Burbank in prison for shooting a man in Glendale
Last week an Armenian man shoot another man in Glendale outside the latter's house.
A 40-year-old A. Martirosyan did not accept that he shot a 34-year-old man multiple times outside the victim’s Glendale home. The victim was left in critical condition.Before Martirosyan left the scene, he reportedly threatened to kill the victim’s wife, who witnessed the shooting. He was charged with attempted murder, assault with a firearm and making criminal threats, according to a criminal complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Officers were called on Wednesday morning to the 1500 block of West Kenneth Road, where the victim, identified in the complaint as E. Aghasyan, had been shot multiple times below the waist in his driveway.Aghasyan has undergone multiple surgeries and remains hospitalized.
“He is still in extremely critical condition,” said Glendale Police Sgt. Jeff Newton. “He’s got serious injuries.” Police are working to determine a motive.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, Martirosyan and the victim were one-time potential business partners.Police are working to determine a motive.
Martirosyan is due back in court next month. He is being held without bail because prosecutors consider him a flight risk and a threat to public safety, said Ricardo Santiago, spokesman for the district attorney’s office.
