Job Description:

We are a patient-centered Urgent Care and Family Medicine practice seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team.
Our practice provides a combination of same-day urgent care, acute illness and injury treatment for all ages and comprehensive family medicine for patients 21 and over. We offer a supportive clinical environment where the provider can practice with a high degree of autonomy while having physician support readily available.
This is an excellent opportunity for an NP who enjoys the variety of urgent care while also developing ongoing relationships with primary care patients.
The Nurse Practitioner will:
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries.
Provide comprehensive primary and family medicine care.
Manage common conditions including respiratory infections, sinusitis, otitis, pharyngitis, UTI, gastrointestinal illnesses, minor injuries, musculoskeletal complaints, and other acute conditions.
Evaluate and manage chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, asthma, and other common primary care conditions.
Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations.
Order and interpret appropriate laboratory studies, X-rays, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests.
Perform minor office procedures, including wound care, laceration repair/suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, and other procedures within the provider's scope of practice.
Provide preventive care, health screenings and routine physical examinations.
Prescribe medications and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment, medications, lifestyle modification, and preventive health.
Recognize patients requiring a higher level of care and appropriately refer or transfer them to the emergency department or specialist.
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical documentation.
Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team.
Provide excellent patient service and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Job Requirements:

Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in California
National board certification as an FNP through AANP or ANCC.
Current BLS certification.
DEA registration or eligibility.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
1+ year of experience in urgent care, family medicine, emergency medicine, or a similar outpatient setting.
Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients.
Ability to perform common urgent care procedures.
Experience interpreting basic EKGs and X-rays.
Experience with electronic medical records.
Experienced NPs with a strong background in urgent care or family medicine are especially encouraged to apply. Current urgent-care postings frequently seek providers comfortable with both adult and pediatric patients, minor procedures, and diagnostic testing.
